MC Escher Project

So we had to make our own Escher drawing.  MC Escher was known for taking images and fitting them into each other like a puzzle.  Here is his gallery if you are interested in seeing his work! (I highly recommend checking it out, they are really cool!)

So I was inspired by this picture of a skull that I found online, and that is where I started from:

From the skull, I made a really quick sketch on graph paper (it ended up being the final shape/figure that I used).
Next I took some tracing paper and played around with different configurations.

 


I transfered the image to watercolor paper, inked it, and then painted the skulls and flowers.
It's crooked I know...

For extra credit we were asked to scan it into photoshop and invert the colors, it actually came out pretty cool!

The project was a challenge, but totally worth it!
