'Arms' by Christina Perri

This song describes how I feel right now, but it has also inspired me and that is why I am posting up the lyrics on this blog rather than my random one.  I will post the link to youtube after the lyrics!

I never thought that you would be the one to hold my heart
But you came around and you knocked me off the ground from the start

You put your arms around me
And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go
You put your arms around me and I'm home

How many times will you let me change my mind and turn around?
I can't decide if I'll let you save my life or if I'll drown

I hope that you see right through my walls
I hope that you catch me 'cause I'm already falling
I'll never let a love get so close
You put your arms around me and I'm home

The world is coming down on me and I can't find a reason to be loved
I never wanna leave you but I can't make you bleed if I'm alone

You put your arms around me
And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go...

I hope that you see right through my walls
I hope that you catch me, 'cause I'm already falling
I'll never let a love get so close
You put your arms around me and I'm home

I tried my best to never let you in to see the truth
And I've never opened up
I've never truly loved 'til you put your arms around me
And I believe that it's easier for you to let me go

I hope that you see right through my walls
I hope that you catch me, 'cause I'm already falling
I'll never let a love get so close
You put your arms around me and I'm home

You put your arms around me and I'm home

The Boy and Windex

This is a chine colle that I made at a print making work shop.  This was a lot of fun to make. Print making takes a lot of time but it can be worth it in the end.  For this picture I took two random objects that were around and I placed them on a wooden table.  What I like most about it is the simplicity of it is still just as intriguing as the details.  And the colors all work well together despite their contrast.  The ink that did not completely come off also added a really nice back drop effect.

(This next part has nothing to do with the picture above)
Also, I am going to try an post more pictures is if I can.  I also trying to find the time to go to a studio and do some more nude drawings.  Nude drawings have to be my favorite.  Even though I always feel awkward when I start, I love drawing the organic lines of the body.  It is really relaxing and if you have the time, I recommend finding a studio near you that does have models modeling and sit in and draw.

The Gymnast

I know it is some what hard to see, my phone does not have the greatest camera on it.  This was a quick little doodle I made of a gymnast.  I did not want it to be too literal, I just wanted the general idea of a girl doing a split into a handstand.  I also wanted to add the effect that there were flat objects such as paper and ribbons that were being twisted at places where the body can bend (stomach, elbows, knees, etc.).  I do not know if you can tell from this picture, but at each turning point it is shaded in a little darker.

A Quote For the Soul 1

I love quotes, so every once in a while I am going to post a quote. Some quotes may be random but most will be about art and architecture.

"White is the most wonderful color because within it you can see all the colors of the rainbow. The whiteness of white is never just white; it is almost always transformed by light and that which is changing; the sky, the clouds, the sun and the moon."

In the Nude

Thursday, July 7, was my first time drawing a nude model. At first it was really awkward but then it comes to the point where the model is just something you are drawing rather than a naked person standing in front of you.

This picture was my one of my first. I like it only because of the legs especially the left thigh. (I only had five minutes to draw this so it is nowhere near complete)

Bold

This is one of my later pictures. This one is very aesthetically pleasing, well I think it is at least.

Here I was trying to use a different technique to display the joints.

This represents the inside, the volume of the person. As it progresses I start to darken around the outline.

This is one of my final pictures (It is also a different model). The head and feet did not fit into the scanner but it is fine because I was not focussing on the head and feet.

For those who know me well they know I have a fascination with the human body. I think the subtle curves and dents that our bodies have are beautiful. In many of my later pictures I emphasize on the curvatures of the body. I hope one day to be able to have a male model. I am always trying to draw the male anatomy but it is a lot more complicated than the female (especially for a female of my age).

This is the Blackpearl Trend Home in Rotterdam. I scrolled upon it randomly and found the design extremely interesting. What really catches my eye and probably everyone else's is the windows.

The interior is just as stunning as the exterior. This blog has pictures of both interior and exterior. I highly recommend to check it out! Click Here!

I was planning on uploading some more of my work, but I had some problems with the scanner so I should have them tomorrow!

Hello and Welcome to the Wall of Art

Hey guys! Some of you may know me from my original blog(s) and others from school. Online, I call myself flyingmuffins and unlike my other blogs this one is something I have always wanted to do. I will be posting pictures of art work done by myself and random pictures that I like. With each, I'll try to give an explanation. I have always wanted to do a blog where, rather than talking about my constantly repetitive life, I can just post pictures or link songs that I like for others to see as well.

*raises the mug of milk next to me* To a successful new blog filled with interests!

One may ask, "why are you doing this?" To answer this a minor detour must be made; I want to become an architect when I am older. I love architecture and I want to excel. I have looked at many colleges and seen the different portfolios required to get in and I realized that I needed to improve my portfolio. I am now in a Pre-College program at Pratt Institute to work on a portfolio. There is a portfolio development class that I take and in that class, my professor told us we had to make a blog as described before. I am really excited about this especially since I have wanted to do this for the longest time.

I promise, this will be the longest post I make here. Let us start off with a picture shall we?

I took this photo a few years ago in the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It is a digital photograph but I had this picture printed in a larger scale. I have always loved flowers and this picture really shows who I am. I really love how there are these cute flowers with a blue backdrop, I only wish I could remember what created the backdrop.

You could also revolve the photograph so the leaf is on the bottom of the picture as I have it on my presentation bored.
